Hey Everyone,

Heading to El Calafate in March and want to bus to Chalten for a couple of days. Found a bus service online that costs about $130 US roundtrip. That seemed high to me. Anyone have info on bus services their prices and their schedules?

Thanks!!!!! Reply to this

I really cant remember the price of the bus but $130 round trip is crazy. It's a four hour bus journey and I'd say $20 max. There are daily buses as there is a steady flow of travelers heading in both directions. Reply to this

We were there recently and there was a good deal in the El Calafate bus station that was a bus there and back and 2 nights in a hostel in El Chalten. I can't remember the price but it certainly wasn't $130! That seems an awful lot and you'd be much better off sorting out when you get to Argentina. As above, there are plenty of buses going between the two.

I travelled to El Chalten from El Calafate by bus when I was in Argentina in February. I know I didn't pay 130 USD for a round trip! I think it was more near 130 ARPeso (around 30-40 USD) although I'm not sure now how much I exactly paid. That was with Chalten Travel but there could be cheaper journeys elsewhere. Reply to this
