I mean, It's gonna be I very long journey I know but I'm not scared of that. maybe you guys have any idea about how much does it cost? it's probably not gonna be as expensive as travelling by plane i think, plus I have a passion for photography and the landscapes in that area are amazing. any kind of tip is more than welcome =) Mell Mell Post Count: 13894 Msg: #2 52 days ago, October 1st 2009 | Hello Chiara | Yes, I think you can travel around pretty safely by bus. What it costs per day will depend on which country you are in. If you have a US or American passport, you will have visa costs to add on. If you dont, I think it will cost you between 20 and 40 Euros per day, to travel in S. America. You could stay at hostels. Just Google hostels and the town you want to find one in and a list will come up. You can also book the hostels online. That is 65 hours on buses just to get between Buenos Aires and Cusco. You should fly part of your route as you do not have much time to waste with three weeks. If you are from the USA you have no visa costs for Argentina, Chile (if entering by land) or Perú. If you are from Europe you will have no visa costs. I'm gonna give a look to the web site you suggested me. From BA to Arica should cost about 200 dollars for the two segments (BA-Santiago-Arica) but you do need to factor in food costs too on long distance buses. They usually give you food from BA to Santiago. Santiago to Arica they will stop at a restaurant or two. If you have time to break your trip into Buenos Aires-Mendoza, Mendoza-Santiago, try to fly Santiago-Arica, Tacna-Arequipa, Arequipa-Cusco, it would make the trip more bearable. The buses in Argentina and Chile are excellent, get the best class ticket. Take day buses in Perú. Be careful in bus stations everywhere. | Jimmy2 Jim Begani Post Count: 1 Msg: #6 13 days ago, November 9th 2009 | Hi there, | Has anyone of you done the overland trip from Rio to Patagonia and to santaigo Chile.
