The bus stops in every tiny town... I wouldn't recommend it, especially because you want to leave from Salvador, which means it will take you at least 5 more hours! Moreover, you want to travel during the Carnival period, which means that the ticket will cost you twice as much and it will probably take you even longer... Honestly, if I were you, I would spend the entire Carnival in Salvador- it is sooo genuine you will never want to leave...and if you really do, there are plenty of towns where Carnival is still enjoyed but without that chaos which Rio brings.
