Has anyone spent any time on a beach in southern peru. I'm looking to spend 5 days just relaxing in a seaside town.

Hi,

Yes, that's easy, the town of Asia...you can reach it by bus from Lima. It is on the way to Ica...so you could do the dune buggy in Ica, as well as Paracas national park boat ride, and if you go further, do the NASCA lines and also stop in Pisco...for some Pisco.

I had some "wild" week-ends around Asia few years back. During the summer the place turn in a big party place for the youths from Lima. Problem is, if you go there outside of the summer season (mainly around Christmas), you are going to find the place a little dead.

Hope this help,

Beach? Lima? Ok. beaches are 1h south of Lima by car, but there are nice and warm only if you come in summer (January - March) because right now it's foggy and kind of cold.

If you want to spend some nice days in the sun in this time of the year you have to go to the North of Peru: go to Punta Sal (Tumbes) calm and quiet, Mancora - Vichayito if you want fun and party. Also Colan in Piura. Or Look online for nice hotels in the north (Tumes, Piura, Chiclayo, La Libertad).
