Can anyone recommend whether a trek on Salcantay to MP is doable with a 9 1/2 yo and a 12/1/2 yo kids?

Both are very active and really want to go. I have read different reports on the level of difficulty. some sites say it is moderate and others say difficult. Any suggestions? I plan to spend 3 or 4 days acclimatizing. Reply to this

It involves about 80km of hiking spread over 4 days, with the highest point being 4600 metres on Day 2. With 3 or 4 days acclimatizing in Cusco you should be well prepared, good luck! It's twice as long as Inca trail but so long as you're fit and acclimatized you should have no probs. Reply to this
