Hello,I really need your assistance,I have joined a shipping company that is located
in Dar Es Salam,Actually I am working now in Egypt.

I am really worried as I have read in the Internet that lot of infecious diseases are there.

I need anyone who lives in Dar to advise me the following :-

-is it safe to have only vaccination against Yellow Fever and if any other
necessary vaccination is needed.

-is it true that Malarya is there and some infecious diseases in Dar.

- is it safe in terms of personal and properties security,I mean can somone walk
safe in the city.

-How's the weather and is it necessary to have some rain coats as I heared that it is rainy
always.

-How about availability of Medicines Esp.for allergy and Diabetes.

-How is the foods and if super markets are there.

Best Regards

Hello Ahmed 😊

Yes, a few vaccinations are necessary. Go to a travel clinic and they will give you everything you need. Particular care about Malaria needs to be taken in many/all African countries so make sure you have Malaria prevention medication and a good mosquito repellant.

- is it safe in terms of personal and properties security,I mean can somone walk

I would keep valuables out of sight when walking around the streets and avoid walking around at night when possilble.

Be sure you know what medication you need and what the dosage is. In many African hospitals they tend to over medicate. They think the more medicine the better so the more you can afford the more they will give, regardless of whether you need it or not. Bring the medication you need with you if you can, and a letter from your doctor to say what it is, so you can take it through customs at airports and on board planes.

i think you dont need to be that much worried, if the local people can spend their entire lives in tanzania, why worry for just a few days over?. ok you might need some profesional advice from a doctor first but there is nothing much toworry about, with malaria you just need to sleep in a net, with safety cross the streets you just need to watchout for strangers just like you would be in any other place, infact it is easier here, really easy and you are going to love it, but if you have much much questions just see a doctor to be more precise.
hey buddy,
welcome to tanzania dood.
