my tour finishes in cusco will head to lima afterwards but my rtw ticket goes from santiago (fly to nz etc etc) any ideas on how to get from lima to santiago ? time is not a problem, i would rather avoid the bus as ive heard some horror stories...any ideas would be appreciated.

Reply to this You can take a bus from Lima to Tacna, city frontier with Arica (Chile), then you can continue to Santiago. Aproximately 3 days.
Lima / Tacna 22 hours by bus.
Tacna / Arica 2 hours by taxi
Arica / Santiago 26 hours by bus.
Buses Companies :
Lima/ Tacna (CRUZ DEL SUR, the best company)
Tacna / Arica (there are a lot of taxis, there are of 5 persons)
Arica / Santiago (TUR BUS).
The road is very safe, not problem.
