Trevlling overland in Argentina

My friend and I are looking to travel in Argentina by bus. We wish to leave Bueanos Aires in a few days and make our way to the very south of Argentina. Which is the best route we should take? Where should we stop for a a few nights or more en route?

We have 3 weeks or so to spend in Argentina and will travel back up North through Chile/Argentina.

We dont have a clue where we should stop en route?
Which bus should we book?
