Anyone used Chimu Adventures for Salkantay Trek? Or any other tours in Peru with this company?

Have found it hard to find an affordable aussie tour company that offers Salktantay Trek - came across Chimu Adventures on internet which look pretty good and fairly cheap ($700 for trek incl entry to MP). Wondering if anyone has used these guys and what the experience was like, can they be recommended? keen to book soon (heading to Peru in July) Reply to this

My husband & I recommend Peru Treks. Very professional, knowledgeable, safe, they are terrific with their local porters & great food. We traveled with this group twice in two different years. For other treks Nawya Travel is excellent. Ask for Jhon. Also we always stay at Hostel Amaru I on Cuesta San Blas, and if you like Thai food (a nice change from papas) check out Indigo. They have terrific pisco sours and are safe to drink.

Thanks Aud...I had a look at their website but unfortunately they've stopped doing salkantay trek for time being & not taking any new bookings.
Thanks for the tips, I had a look at Hostel Amaru website & looks great, will keep them in mind. Reply to this

I used Chimu Adventures a year or so ago and went on a Lares Trek. It was really easy to book (just paid on-line) and I think I got a free night's accommodation before hand which was a handy bonus although the hotel itself wasn't the best, but fine for free 😊. The trek itseld was well run, the food was good and had a great time. Havn't heard from anyone that went on the Salkantay trek though with Chimu Adventures but I think they would use the same local operators so it should be alright Reply to this
