rodgedodge Paul Rodgers Post Count: 1 Msg: #1 345 days ago, December 13th 2008 | I like to 'read up' a bit on places before I travel. Both factual and fiction. I hope to go to Easter island in November 2009. Suggestions for books other than guide books would be appreciated. I found some books by Jo Anne Van Tilburg--very interesting. Also the Easter Island Foundation website is good. There don't seem to be many novels set on Easter Island - I've only come across 'Easter Island' by Jennifer Vanderbees and 'Tangata manu' by Roger Poole so far. Any others? | Thanks barrygahan Barry Post Count: 150 Msg: #2 343 days ago, December 15th 2008 | Collapse by Jared Diamond has a long chapter about Easter Island. His book is about how societies decline and fall and his theory about EI is interesting. | Also look out for anything by the Norweigan explorer, Thor Heyerdahl. I've read his Kon-Tiki book, which is great and I think he's written a couple of books on EI too. Number of Users: 2 | Number of Posts: 2 | ||||||||||
