Pie Peru Inca Trail Trek

Has anyone taken Pie Peru for their Inca Trek? Was it a good company? Why is it so cheap compared to the others?

Hi!

My travel partner and I are interested in doing the classic 4 day Inca Trek at the end of January 2009. We need to book fairly soon to ensure we get a spot. We've been researching companies online and the prices of local companies seem to range from $295USD to $450USD for the same trek. Has anyone gone with Pie-peru.com? It is the cheapest one by far and seems to include all the things that the rest of the treks have.

I'm wary of booking online anyway, but I'd like to know if anyone recommends a good company to go with. Thanks so much!!! Reply to this

Great question. I am too booking for the end of Jan 2009. Perhaps we'll be on the same group!?!? I also see that Pie Peru is a lot cheaper than the company I was going to book with. I emailed the company and asked if there was a difference in the equipement being used or service? Reply to this

Here's their response:
"Thanks for writting us. I assume that the other conpanies maybe they work with small groups. in our groups the maximun is 16 passengers.
Beside that everyone has to give the same service because the companies who run the inca trail has to be approved my the goverment so all the companies gives the same services.
Our tents are doite tents , normal matresses , but the food, tour guide and the rest i think is the same.
The price for 2009 is US$320.00

Also we have another inca trail and we provide a duffle bag so teh porters can carry part of your equipment. The new price for 2009 is US$460.00"

I went with Peru Treks for $430US. I think the max per group was 10-12 and yes. I cant seem to find any other reasons but Peru Treks got some good reviews. I hope the saying is right "you get what you pay for".

Good luck on your search. Reply to this
