I would like to know what you think, number of days to get from Huancayo to Cusco.
if travelling only during daylight hours.
What bus companies are recommended.

I don't know if it is possible to travel directly from Huancayo to Cusco. If you want to stick to the bigger more reliable bus companies (Cruz del Sur, Ormeno, Tepsa, Cial) I think you have to travel via Lima.
www.sabuses.com is a good website to check bus schedules. I have found buses from
Huancayo to Lima and from
Lima to Ica and
Nazca and from there you could take a bus to
Cuzco. However all buses I found from Nazca and Ica to Cuzco are night buses. What's your reason for not travelling at night? If it is safety issues I would reconsider, the big bus companies don't stop at night so I think travelling at night is as save as travelling during day.
