The comedor
so many smells and sounds.. It´s easy to see why Sucre is so often related to it´s french translation..it is the sweetest little town. All set out around organised plazas with lots of lovely benches and statues etc etc. Unfortunately we spent most of our first day here getting bugged by shoe-shine boys - the fact you are wearing flip flops is no put-off to them whatsoever - and Jack befriended some young ladies ( 5 yr old bolivian beggars) who desired his jewelry...Obviously his charm is just too iresistible!
We headed over to the market for our favourite one quid almuerzo luncheon, actually pretty tasty this time (i got a decent sized lump of lamb!) and a veggie salad option for Jack..although this is kind of pointless because the meat is touching the rest of the food everywhere!
We also walked up to the Mirador at La Recolecta for what must be the world´s most scenic beer and icecream possible..on a walkway looking out over the city. Bolivia has such beautiful scenery everywhere..just you wait till this blog has photos!
On our last day in Sucre we went uber tourist and got the ´Dino-Truck´(yes, it is a truck with a dinosaur´s head stuck on the
Recolecta
The view from the mirador front) to the dinosaur trails fpound at a local cement factory. This is a proper got-to-see-it-to-believe-it attraction. If you ignore the tacky and ridiculous plastic figures of dinosaurs everywhere then the archeological find is quite exciting..Actual dinosaur footprints, dating back thousands of years. However only the bolivians could make it look as ridiculously theme-parky as possible - although we didnt miss out on the photo ops!
After returning from Bolivia´s Jurassic Park we figured it was time to up the altitude a few notches again so headed straight onto Potosi (4090 m) and the inmfamous silver mines!
