So we are now in Cuidad Bolivar. It was another long day of travelling, but we finally got here about 6pm after leaving Margarita Island at 8am.

Our Posada(hostel), Don Carlos is a lovely old building. There were´t many rooms left so we are all sharing one big room. Mandy & I are downstairs and the boys upstairs. Apparently Chris´s snoring hasn´t been too bad, Miles has reported.

We´ve spent the last few days looking around the town, having breakfast next to the River Rio Orinoco. We have booked our trip to Angel Falls and leave tomorrow at 7.30am. It is a 3 day - 2 night trip, where we will spend both of the two nights at different camps sleeping in hammocks. Can´t wait - very excited!!

To pay for the trip we had to pay in Bolivars, so we went to two different banks to get the money out and ended up with 4 million Bolivars. It sounds a lot but is only 1000 pounds. The trip cost us about 180 pounds each which includes all food and transport.

The spanish here is very different from what we have been learning and I haven´t yet need to say "My wife has worked for Rover for 10 years" but I am sure it may come in handy at some time. We are making ourselves understood most of the time, it is understaing the answer that is the problem.

Tip for anyone reading this that is coming to Venezuela - bring loads of US Dollars. the black market rate is double the official rate, so if you have dollars everything will cost half as much.

Will post again after Angel Falls. We know how to post photos, and will do so with the Angel Falls update.

Love to everyone

Tina & Chris
