Early 8am bus to Chiclayo and meet the taxi driver so he waits with me to make sure I get the right one. Arrive in Chiclayo about 12 and want to visit Sipan and the museum and leave that evening. Once again the buses donĀ“t allow this as the timing is wrong so the taxi driver offers me the trip. First we go to Sipan along a very bumpy road so it takes an hour to get there and seems very close to where the locals live. The pyramids have not been excavated so there is only the burial site to see. The Lord of Sipan was burried here and most was taken by grave robbers but many pots and treasures were still around and displayed in the museum. The most famous being the spider necklace of sipan.
The museum is brand new and amazing, it has many gold treasures but the necklace stands out with its many globes of gold each holding a spider shape inside them.
I have an hour in the town before the only bus to Mancora leaves with the hope of arriving there at 3am...
