A 5 hour flight gets you from South America´s lush green Atlantic coast across the Andes to it´s dry dessert-like Pacific one. After a bus and train ride from Cusco, you arrive in Aguas Calientes, a town built to house and feed all of the people going in and out of Machu Picchu. You have to stay here overnight if you want to be one of the first to Machu Picchu in the morning. Oh, and they also have 4 for 1 happy hours to help ease the pain in your legs after long hikes.

we happened to catch this really good local band playign in the street across from where we were havign a few drinks while waiting for the train back to Cusco....They did not know ¨freebird¨
