A 5 hour flight gets you from South America´s lush green Atlantic coast across the Andes to it´s dry dessert-like Pacific one. The still-functioning irrigation system led to this bath that had stone steps going down into the water. It was a little chilly that dy to try it out, although I bet the guards would have stopped me first.

The Inca ruins here mark one of the few places where the Spanish conquistadors lost a major battle. The exquisite architecture seen here shows that it was a temple as much as it was a fort.

there is what looks like a face in the side of this mountain. You mostly see just the eye and brow, and the nose.

These stones were carved with bumps on them to symbolize, in the words of our tour guide, ¨the titties of the woman,¨ as a symbol of fertility.

The weaver tried with great patience to show me what she was doing, to be honest i left feeling like an idiot, it still boggles my mind.
