was tight, but they did not force us to submit to a body search
I took a bus from Cusco to Nasca, arriving in Nasca in the wee hours. It is such a lovely 12 hout bus trip through canyons, deserts and mountains, that I say it is much better to do the trip during daylight hours, than to take the overnight bus, as so many seem to do. Go overnight you´ll only save 15 sol, but miss so many beautiful vistas.

A few hours after arriving in Nasca I took a small plane to view the Nasca lines. The tight turns the plane makes as we´re viewing the lines is almost as good as the lines themselves...although some times it is a little like Where´s Wally......¨Dog, under left wing now¨.....while we a banked at 90 degrees and all I can see is dirt.

The lines are really well done, but rather annoying, because no one knows why they are there. A bit like the Christ in Rio, they are a lot small than I had imaged. Still, I´m am pleased to have finally seen them after reading about them in National Gerographic as a 8 year old.

After the flight, I took a tour to see some ancient gravard out in

or greetings from earth
the desert. A few years ago all the mummys were lying on the surface after being dug up and robbed. Now the site is a bit of a museo where you can see 2000 year old mummys in the open air. The graveyard is apperantly 2ks long by 500 meters wide, in what is just ugly, dusty desert. It is a terrible place to be buried in..but then Nasca is a terrible place to live.
Nasca is a low browny/ grey city in a browny/gery dersert, with a permanent browny/grey sky, split by a dry river bed filled with trash.

So bearly 12 hours after arriving in Nasca, I left.
