Hola Gringo´s

right lets get you all up to speed!! Ok so first things first, i´ve stuck a couple of pic´s of nazca lines and us sleeping in the desert that the naff pc wouldn´t let me post last time!

So next stop on the tour was Puerto Inca, this is where the Incan kings used to go on their holidays! We camped on the beach and chilled out.....we were challenged to a game of footy by the Peruvian locals! It was hard going as we were playing on a dusty pitch, i spent quite a while in goal and got many a face full of sand and dust! Oh and we lost even though there were only 5 of them and we were rolling subs on and off! We finished the night off drinking sangria on the beach...you might fing this hard to belive but i passed out next to the swimming pool, shocker eh!

So the next morning we were supposed to be on breakfast duty...that didnt happen, i just about managed to get my arse on the truck ready for a long drive and our next stop ...Arrequipa, the second largest city in Peru! A

7 hour drive along the pan american highway....through vast plains of nothingness climbing altitude all the time! We are now 2400metres above sea level, and its the first time we´ve noticed the air get a bit thinner. Man am i glad we arrive at the hotel campsite..i´ve literally had to turn me boxers inside out for the last few days as im that short on clothes...they either stink of campfires or are covered in sand!!

Next day and it´s en route to a town called Chivay, the route takes us past the snow capped volcano Misti, and we make a short stop to drink some Coco de Mate (tea made from the leaf they get cocaine from) the locals swear by it as they say it helps adjust to the climate. Which is handy because at one point we stop at a pass that is 4900 metres above sea level...you get out of breath just climbing off the truck to take a piccy!! We spot numerous Llamas and Alpacas grazing on the plains as we go and when we arrive in Chivay our guide informs us that they are celebrating a festival, De Immaculada Concepcion. All the locals are

out in the plaza dancing and it really is a cool sight!!

Oh and for lunch i try Cuy (guinea pig!) its not very meaty and to be honest I got its foot...I could tell this as i had the skeleton of it on my plate. It tastes a bit like....well lets just say not chicken!

The next morning and its a five am start, as we are going condor spotting in the Colca Canyon....the worlds second largest canyon...and no the grand canyon isnt the first! We perch on the rocks and we have to wait an hour before our first sighting....then they all start swooping in and they are bloody massive....the wingspan is 3 metres wide.....try knocking up a Jhalfrezi out of that!

On the way home we stop via the small village of Maca. We all stop to pose with a large bird of pray on our heads, typical when its my go the bloody hat falls off and the bird starts clawing at the top of my head to keep its balance! I dont wanna hear the pregnancy thing girls....you dony know pain til you´ve had a 2 and a half foot bird using

your head as a sharpening stone.

Last stop in Arrequipa was to visit the frozen body of Juanita, a 12-14 year old girl they found atop a mountain in 1995. The Incas sacrificed her back in the day as an offering to the gods, first they got her really drunk, then bashed her skull in and left her body there to freeze. Ah the good old days before all this human rights boll***s eh! The body still has teeth, hair, skin the lot....its a bit creepy.

Right well thats you lot up to date, just arrived in Cusco in preparation for the inca trail...bring it on!!
