Three countries in one day, Chile, Peru and Ecuador, what a way to spend a birthday!!! To reach our final destination Quito Ecuador required an early morning flight at 52,000 feet! But was worth it for the spectacular views as we paralleled the snow capped Andes Mountains on our way north. They almost seemed close enough to touch from aircraft's window. The smooth landing, on a shorter than normal runway, in Quito was preceded by a number of steep turns among the hills and houses of the surrounding area.

Had lunch with Prue in Melbourne last Sunday, she seems very happy and looks terrific. Save the date next year 28 April - we thought we might get married on that date!
