Die letschte zwe Taeg hei mir no ae chline Abstaecher nach Baños gmacht. Eigentlech wuerd me dert ae aktive Vulkan gseh...leider hets raecht fescht gschiffet und me het ueberhoupt nuet vo daem Vulkan gseh ;-) Derfuer hei mir ues es super schoens Hotel ufem Baerg ueber Baños goennt, wo me het choenne im Pool hoeckle und ufs Dorf abe luege (und eigentlech ufe Vulkan...).

Am zwoeite Tag hei mir de ae Taxichauffeur engagiert, wo ues i zwoei chlini Doerfli gfahre het, wo bekannt si fuer Jeans und Laederware. Und denn isch ds Shoppingfieber usbroche....Am Schluss hei mir grad no knapp uf uesne zwe Bussitze zrugg nach Quito Platz gha.

ENGLISH summary for our international audience:
last 2 days spent in Baños - which, with less clouds, would let one see the active vulcano - lucky as we were, the sky was overcast all the time so that we missed this sight. However the hotel on the mountain above the city was perfect - 4 hot pools and good food.

Yesterday we rented a cab for half a day and went on our first shopping tour - we hit the towns were many int'l Blue Jeans brands are produced and later on went to the 'leather' town. We bought ourselves some nice outfits, and spent only a fraction of what Swiss prices would be. Later on back to Quito by bus and to complete the day we had dinner at Tony Romas - specialiced on ribs and also serving delicious drinks (like a blue martini!).
