Grocery Shopping Colombia
3 stores to buy 5 things on the way home. Even with a large Safeway like store people like to buy certain things from little shops. This is an update on house-hunting: I have a friend or 2 who can provide a room and exchange language tutoring, the cost is minimal, not much over $225/month. If you have or know of a similiar situation please post it in comments here. Thanks, William
Check local "periodicos" & "agencias"online possibly phone or email them in English if it is your only alternative and hope they understand.
Craigslist tends to be high priced. If your Spanish is very limited search the famous "poorbuthappy" website, it is shutdown but the archives are very good and still there.

or just http://www.compartoapto.com of course Tennis 9AM .. I was set up with a club pro ($5/45min) I wasn't happy (didn't know) about, he was better than me of course and pointed out a few problems with my foot work but, ...After i found a game with a regular player.
Spent an hour at the Billiards parlor on 70th - Australian Open Tennis-big TV by the sidewalk tables and also entertained by the jugglers and tightrope walker on the corner.
Looked at a couple of rooms and found
Dog walker on 70th
This guy has total control of 12 dogs. Only 3 are on a leash the others are free but joined 2 together. $200/month = student/tenement style accommodation = not good.
Lucia made a tuna on an arepa for dinner (small dinner, larger lunch in Colombia), Filipe and I went across the street and bought 3 beer, 1 coke and 2 chocolate bars for $3 to have while we watched pretty good spaghetti western. He buys a new movie every week for $1 (pirated).
Tomorrow we will look in El Colombiano newspaper for a shared apartment and go to the botanical gardens.
Next Day:
Botanical not as good as the countryside I think. The bar for the Australian Open not so co-operative for the game today..? Lucia drove us to Sabaneta she calls a pueblo about 30 minutes out but seemed to be a suburb right next to another suburb Envigado. There was a great huge square and a big church overlooking all the clubs and restaurants. People everywhere and I was told it was a quiet night. People gather in great groups all over the city on the sidewalks and in parks at night to party creating a ...party atmosphere all over the city. A little like new years eve almost every night. I hope to get some photos
Jugglers and tightrope walker

You
Well, eventually you had to meet someone taller than you! Is there a time difference in Colombia from here? Did I tell you that James was in class last week..his hair has grown back, he has lost lots of weight, his leg brace is gone and he no longer has to take most of his 27 meds. Was very coherent, not rambling on, stayed on topic. Will probably take his aviation licencing tests soon and go back to Arizona where he's been working. Having Brigitte and Lynn for lunch next week, but they aren't in class. It's just Barry, Alan, James and I so far from the old group.
