On Thanksgiving we did my favorite thing on the trip....We went to the mud volcano. We got picked up at our hotel in a small van with some people from Argentina, England, and the USA and took a 1 hour ride to Volcano El Totumo. This was a very special volcano......We were able to go in it as it was not filled with lava, but was filled with mud. That's right, it was time to get dirty.

Shortly after we arrived, we put on our bathing suits and walked up the stairs of the small volcano. At the top, we gave our camera to someone to take pics and wen into the volcano.....thick mud. It was so weird and cool at the same time. While we could not toucht he bottom (I think it was a few hundred feet deep) it was sooooo thick that there was no chance of sinking even if we tried. It was even hard to mover around in it. At first I just hold on to daddy, but then I got used to just "floating" in the mud. It was soooooo much fun.

After spending about 30 minutes feeling like pigs, we walked down the volcano and went down to the lake were a couple of women bathed us to get the mud off. After some delicious watermelon, we were back in the van to a short drive to a beautiful place to have lunch. It was a whole fish...I loved it.

Then back in the van and back to Cartagena. It was an incredible experience I will never forget.
