That feeling of being at home just grew and grew. When I listened to music and sat on a bean bag right on top of the deck I was surrounded by the buildings of Catageran city, It felt somehow a lot like my favourite place in London, south bank.
The sun peaked though the shinny glass buildings and lit up the sky hundreds of different shades of red, orange and yellow.
As people began rising and making their way on to deck there was an atmosphere in the air, our journey was ending, our time together finished.
Luckily most of us had booked into the same hostel in the old town and that same night as we wandered up to met the crew at Trinadad Sq we were all suddenly together again.
I knew I would love Colombia and when a lady suddenly came into the square with a head set and locals started arriving to the sq in work out clothes I couldn't believe it when an open air Zumba class began right there, Cass and I joined in than ran home to shower after the 5th dance, humidity almost too much to bare.
A few days
later everyone began dispersing to carry on there adventures, it was sad to lose our little family, I miss them all dearly, but hold on to the fact I have made friends for life.
The next step on our journey was a peaceful hilltop hostel in the Serra Navada cloud forest. Nestled down a long, wet, slippy path is Oscars place, a chilled safe heaven run by an extremely interesting older Colombian guy, we spent a few days living between the trees, reading, bird watching and at night, staring out at the star filled sky.
A few days later after a trek to the most beautiful beach in Colombia in Trarona national park we swapped beds for hammocks once more and drank beers on the beach while talking to new and old friends. That northern part of Colombia was stunning and after a cheeky internal flight we found ourselves in Medillen described by many as the medium porridge in goodie locks, not too hot, not too cold, just right. The beautiful British spring days enabled us to wander around in scarfs and jeans, exploring the city and the beautiful hilly forest that surrounds it.
Bogotá was our
last stop in Colombia and our last few days with the lovely Rosie after two months together! The week inbetween Medillen and Bogotá we shared gasps at a salsa compition in Cali, screams on a motorbike cart on a disused railway, then finally chills in freezing Bogota, the altitude made it tough to breath, and hard to wander, but wander we did, up and down the cobbled street, also to an incredible salt cathedral in a local town. The chill in the air caused us to spend one cosy night in by an open fire, with red wine and take away pizza... and our final night Rosie surprised us with tickets to see Katy Perry live! BEST SURPRISE EVER!
What an amazing four weeks! Colombia, I will be back!
