Beaches

About 5:15am we hear these drums beating and singing,…. This went on for another couple of hours. What!!!! We get up around 8 to get ready for breakfast. Seems this is a party town as there are 6 colleges. One of the big corners is down the hill from here and Judith says the partying starts about 1 and continues till around 7am… They did sound like they were having fun (drunken fun)



After a short breakfast we’re back upstairs. Shelly got an offer on the property for sale out in Reno and had to do a bit of work and I read. It was really cloudy/foggy this morning. About 11 we headed downstairs and got more information on the beaches. Shelly really wanted to try surfing. Judith called a taxi that took us to Vino Del Mar where we caught the local bus to ConCon. We got out at the wrong stop (well right stop for afternoon surfing not mid day) so we had to get back on another bus. We did make it to ConCon. There were several surfing places there and Shelly found one that she liked and got a rental and a lesson. I found a place for a diet coke and I read for a couple of hours. Shelly had a blast even though the waves were small. The coast around here looks a lot like the California coast with lots of rocks and few beaches. The hills are right beside the coast and hotels and condos cover the sides of the hills. Since the building go up the sides of the hills, the elevators for the hotels are actually little funiculars that go up the side of the building.



We then took the bus back to Reneca where we found a place for lunch (btw, lunch here is usually around 3). We then caught another bus back to Valparaiso and walked the hill to the hotel.



As Shelly napped, I blogged and read. There was musicians all around and you could hear all kinds of music. It was very pleasant. Once she got up she had to work more on the computer and neither of us were hungry. Finally about 9:30, we went and found some pizza and had a light dinner. Then back here where we got a glass of wine and headed to the roof to see the lights….
