A eso de las 9:30 he salido del camping y he conseguido algo de fruta fresca y un bidon de agua en Caldera. A partir de aqui 2 opciones. (1) 170 km de carretera de tierra por la costa, con minipueblos por el camino, y luego 50 km de carretera al interior hasta una ciudad. (2) 80km de autopista hacie el interior a una ciudad y luego 150km de auopista por el desierto a la siguiente. Al final me he decidido por la opcion 2, prefiero el calor del desierto al viento fuerte del sudoeste en la costa. Asu que he hecho mis primeros 40 km a Copiapo con el viento costero cojonero que empieza a eso del mediodia, y luego 40 km mas a toda pastilla con viento a favor, al ir hacia el interior. En Copiapo me quedo en una residencial, que es como un motel, por 36 dolares, asi mañana afronto los 150km de desierto con animo. Ademas en Copiapo he pasado por el centro comercial y he comprado la nueva camara de fotos (Fujifilm Finepix F770 EXR). Es una pocholada, y por 100.000 pesos chilenos, que son como 200 dolares o 140 euros, un precio muy bueno. Tiene funciones similares a la camara anterior, y eso esta bien porque a partir de cierta edad uno ya no quiere aprender a manejar cosas nuevas. A partir de mañana fotos buenas de nuevo. Por cierto, aqui al papel de culo le llaman "Comfort", o sea, que si te preguntan en un hotel a ver si necesitas papel te dicen "si necesita comfort", suena muy distinguido y delicado.

At about 9:30 I left the site and I've got some fresh fruit and a lot of water. From here 2 options. ( 1) 170 km of dirt road along the coast, with minivillages on the way, and then regular road 50 km inland to a city. ( 2) highway 80km to inland to a city and then highway 150km through the desert to the next. In the end I decided on option 2, I prefer the desert heat to the strong wind of the Southwestern along the coast. So I have done my first 40 km to Copiapo with that fucking coastal wind, which started today at about noon, and then 40 more miles at full speed with backwind, going inland. In Copiapo I stay in a residencial, which is like a motel, for 36 dollars, so tomorrow I face the deser in good mood. Also in Copiapo I've been in the mall and I bought the new photo camera ( Fujifilm Finepix F770 EXR) . It's a nice toy, for 100,000 Chilean pesos, which are like 200 dollars or 140 euros, a very good price. It has similar features to the camera before, and that's fine because after a certain age you no longer want to learn how to handle new things. Starting tomorrow good photos again. By the way, here the toilet paper is called "Comfort" , that is, if they ask in a hotel if you need paper they say "if you need comfort" , sounds very elegant and delicate.
