last day in santiago, we attempted to go up the funicular to the top of the small mountain in the town that is the start of a series heading north out of town (you can ski just outside the city in the winter), you get to the top and they have a series of gardens a zoo, a lidoand a cable car down the other side, unfortunately it didnt start until 1.30 pm and as it was only 11.00am we jumped in a cab and headed for the new posh part of town which was much further than we thought, rose had a walk round the new mall and we headed back to the hotel, where we spent the afternoon round the pool chatting to a group of canadians who were here supporting thier son in an international cookery competition.
it was so hot round the pool that you couldnt put your bare feet on the ground.
that evening we had a stroll around and a light dinner where we chatted to an aussie couple who have an apartment in santiago and as they were teachers they came every year here for 7 weeks over christmas
and new year, i didnt mind it but couldnt spend that long here.
went back to the hotel as we had another early start we couldnt be too late up
