A long lie in till 9.30! Then after breakfast, we troop the 1km walk to the bird sanctuary where we are greeted by very friendly toucans (the ones with really big beaks) and a variety of large colourful birds, parrots, vultures, eagles etc, mostly friendly. Slight change from the brazillian birds on copacabana beach. Then a 35min journey in the local bus into the town of Foz to go to the afternoon flicks (snow white and the huntsman) only to find its not English with Portuguese sub titles, but dubbed. So after finally deciphering that fact from the cinema staff who speak no English whatsoever, it's off to the local "best bar in town" to watch euro 2012- Spain v Italy. 4-0 demolition. £9 for a 5 pint pitcher is pretty good value.

And finally, on our 6th day we manage to get to a traditional Brazilian Churascaria where after filling your plate from the hot and cold buffet, they continually bring a variety of barbecued meat on skewers to your table, and I mean continuous. Pork, lamb, beef, rabbit, chicken, sausages, hearts, pineapple, spare ribs, steak, bacon, bla bla. Stuffed ourselves rotten them picked up the bill. A scary £6.50 per person for as much as you could eat! Total bill £35!Taxi back (20mins) and we're almost packed ready for the very early start tomorrow. Boys in indoor pool, tricia packing, me in bar writing this - good combination. Tomorrow......... 7am flight for 1hr. 9am flight for 2 hrs. 12noon flight for 4hrs. Hope we make all the connections!Then 1hr in jeep, 45 mins speed boat, 30 mins canoe to Amazon lodge. All sort of looking forward to journey, we are quite good at staying calm, and will report back on Friday, on assumption there will be no wi fi. If we don't report in you will know one of us has been eaten!
