We got the bus to Angra and then got the ferry over to Ilha Grande. This is the view from the ferry.

The town we stayed in was called Abraau. Its the main town. The only way to get from beach to beach and village to village is to hike over the mountains or get a boat. There are no roads or private cars on the island at all. There was one tractor in Abraau and a bin truck!

On our first full day we went for a trek across the forest to another beach called Lopes Mendes. It lashed rain all day. Thanks to mam and dad for the rain ponchos!

Hahaha seeing those pics makes me remember how much fun it was to be there! Thank you soooo much for posting this, it makes me happy just to remember how I got there and the people I meet at the Misti Chill, it was awesome, Paraty is such a great place! Thanks again!!
