Lapa
Some grafiti As soon as we got into Rio, Boucs and I went straight to Carretao Churrascarria in Ipanema. We were later joined by our good friend Adriana, who took us into Lapa for some parting.
We absolutely loved Rio. Ipanema beach is probably the best beach there, however its very wavy and Copacapan is even worse for waves.
Absoultely loved all the different fruits and acai, fresh fruit juices, coconuts on the beach, little meat skewers, cheese skewers in fact pretty much all the street food was amazing.
We accomplished quite a bit in Rio. Saw a few blocos as it was carnival season, Boucs got a football match in, went to Buzios for a few days, had a night out in Leblon, went to the barra Shopping centre, went to Sugar Loaf Mountain and Botafogo beach, saw Christ the Redemer, explored fruit markets, went on a day trip to Illa Grande and even done a favela tour which was pretty authentic. We actually got one of the members of staff from our hostel (Colinas Residencia) to show us around the local favela there (Not the Rochina one which is a bit too touristy!).
