Welcome to Brazil Folks!
Part two of South America's second most awesome waterfall... (first place going, of course, to Venezuela's Angel Falls):

Brazil was stifling hot. Worse than Argentina. Which actually kind of surprised us because the two countries are separated by only a river. And interestingly, even though we were just crossing from Argentina into Brazil for the day, we were once again given all the "fear mongering" messages we received on our first entrance into Brazil: "Be careful, they'll kill you over there!" and "Muy peligroso, muy peligroso!" (translation: "Very dangerous, very dangerous!") Fantasic. Let's get this party started. As with round one in Brazil, we were just as pleased to be in territory where rumour has it they'll eat you alive. No, not so much.

With exception to the difference in views (Brazil is more of a panoramic view), there weren't many differences between the two sides. Most notable was that the two countries set up the experience of touring the falls differently. Argentina was far more "user friendly" in that they had maps and we could wander the trails on our own. Brazil, on the other hand, had us taking a gutted bus (think double decker Greyhound without windows) between different parts of the falls. Not really a big deal, but a little more inconvenient because we spent a lot of time waiting for the bus.

Returning to Argentina after our day of exploration turned out to be yet another Team Canada Adventure. We didn't know where to get off the bus and ended up missing our "stop" (which is Argentinian code for "random and unmarked place on the side of the highway"), and ended up having to walk back to Argentina. In plus 4000 heat. That's Canadian code for "big sunburn". It was actually only about half an hour walk to the border crossing, and it ended up allowing for some funny photo ops, so in the end we just put on our happy pants and enjoyed the adventure.

That's that for South American waterfalls and South America in general...

Right now we are in South Africa!!! We arrived a few days ago, and are still feeling a little jet legged (after a 15 hour bus ride from Argentina up to Sao Paulo Brazil, a 12 hour stop over, an 8 hour flight to Jo'burg and a second 2 hour flight to Cape Town). So far we think Cape Town is beautiful and are itching to get out and explore! On the itinerary: cage diving with great white sharks and Robben Island. Yes, bring on the next leg of Team Canada vs The World!

Cheers for now - enjoy the minus 20 weather! He heh hehehehe :D
