After being travelling for 19 hours, we got to Cuzco. We did couchsurfing for two nights at William´s house, a guy from Cuzco that offers a room in his little hostel for four people where you can stay for free. He explained to us the cheapest way to get to Machupichu, is necesary to walk quiet
a lot. Before going to Machupichu we stayed in Cuzco for three days, walking around its beautiful streets and squares, is a monumental city. Cuzco is a colonial city but it still remain Inca walls around the city center, is expectacular. Is full of people during the all day, there is lots of restaurants, bars with live bands playing, artscraft shops and clothes made of alpaca. At night there is pure party and locals get together with foreigners. Danca, dance, dance......
From Cuzco we headed to Aguas Calientes, the day after we had to be ready at 5am to walk to Machupichu. The way to Aguas Calientes is a long way, eight hours by bus, two hours by taxi and two hours and a half walking through the railway and surrounded by the jungle.
Machupichu no decepciona.
To get to Machupichu we went up for an hour through stones stairs, quite big ones. We went through the ruins with a very good guide. The first view we had of Machupichu was incredible, much better than the pictures you normally see in books. After we visited all the buildings with the guide we went up the Huanapichu, one of the mountains that is around the ruins, another 45 minutes of stones stairs
going up. From up the mountain you can have a panoramic view of the ruins. It was quite cloudy and it was raining but it did not matter, it was beautiful. From Huaynapichu we went down to the ruins again and went to the place where the famous photo of Machupichu is taken. We did not want to leave. Those days will be unforgetable.
After we visited Machupichu we had to say goodbye to Yesus, he had to go back to Spain. Juanma, David y yo went to the Sacred Valley to visit some more Inca ruins. The Sacred Valley is special, their people as well, they always talk about Pachamama (Mother Earth) and they are greatful about what she give us. The mountains that are around the valley are diferent to what i have seen before, you feel good when you look at them. In Ollantaytambo, a small town of the valley, we spent amazing days walking through the mountains with Walter and Enrique, two guys from Ollanta and Lima. Walter was our guide at Ollanta ruins and Enrique was a craftman close friend of Walter. Both are very good persons.
