Denise made us climb the hill at 7am before breakfast. We were freezing, it may look sunny but the temperature was about 0 degrees!

That is salt not snow you can see and the lake is a pink colour due to the salt content. There were pink flamingos, you just cant see them in the photo!

It was sooo cold!

First night on the Salt Flats!
This was the only heater in the building-last registered temp. was -5 degrees C at about 8pm! That was a cold night!

Breakfast at -10!
It was actually so cold we couldn't sit down!

The sun wasn't up yet and the brick 'building' you can see is where you are meant to change, needless to say none of us bothered!

The Green Lagoon!
I know it's blue but it was called the Green Lagoon!

Horhay
This was our driver! He spoke no English and our Spanish was minimal but we found a common love for 'Old School' dance music! Here he is dancing to 'Pump up the Volume'!

Geysers
Really nice to see but sulphur really stinks!

The salt hotel
The entire building was made of salt, including all tables and chairs! It was the warmest place we stayed while in Uyuni!

Even though we look super-imposed!

Cactus Island in the Salt Flats
The island literally appears from nowhere. We had breakfast here in the sunshine. It is also where Kelly and Dan got engaged!
