IT WAS FREEEEEEEEZZZINGGG!!!!
So we´re back in La Paz after a phenominal trip down to the Salt Flats of Uyuni... we booked a one day tour, travelling the 11 hours down by bus, then a 6 hour tour, and the 11 hours back... this went horribly wrong! THe bus driver decided that Uyuni was too far, and at one point during the journey we were told we´d have to walk the rest of the way, as there wouldnt be another bus until the next day, after all of us gringoes refusing to get off we were eventually on our way, only to stop in the middle of the desert for around 2 hours, 16 hours later we arrived in Uyuni... only to find our tour company locked up and noone to be seen!!! Having befriended some guys from Oxford on the bus, we decided to hire a jeep between the four of us and do the tour ourselves, it was phenominal!! We headed accross the huge lake to a hostel made entirely of salt, having stocked up heavily on booze and food before, we had a nice evening watching the sun set over the flats, and chilling. Getting up early to watch the sunrise

much awaited...
the nxt morning (i took to hopping arund in my sleeping bag it was soooo cold 3800m ish) we headed off to the salt factory, where they carve breezeblocks out of the salt to build with and pile salt up to transport/export, it sounds boring, and i know, why travel 16hours to see alot of salt, but i hope the pics will help with that!!! Also went to the island (exisland) of fish, which was oddly named as there were obviously no fish and an immense supply of cacti!!! Insane!! Heading back to Uyuni to catch a much more successful bus, we spent a fair few hours in the extreme fun pub, needless to say the hours went quickly!! Off to Cuzco mañana, very excited, met imo and shona (gap girls) by chance in Uyuni and are currently racing them back up to Cuzco for machu pichu, looking forward to the Cross Keys Gdad y Gma!!! Write soon, adding pics to the gallery today too! x

Salt make you shrink
Humans being 90% water salt makes you shrink! Can I have a rucksack of "mini mes" too?
