Went out for a delicious meal on Monday - almost couldn´t finish the steak I had, bloody massive!!

Took a trip to the ancient historical site Tiwanaku on Tueday to see ´las ruinas´ that remain of the Tiwanaku civilisation. The pyramid structures are pretty impressive although much of the stone work remains hidden under a great earth mound. However much of the stonework from the temples remains intact after over 2000 years and its pretty incredible. Nearly as good as my wall I built at mum and dads new barn in Shropshire but still pretty impressive - pics up soon for a comparison!!

Good spanish lesson on wednesday morning, followed by an afternoon of preparation for an interview with Adrian Villaneuava - one of the best musicians to emerge out of Bolivia in the last 50 years! Not only is he an amazing musician with around 40 albums, he also makes a huge variety of instruments - many of which are constructed from recycled objects. Some of his most impressive instruments are those made entirely from paper, Il stick some pics up soon but they are truely amazing. He is going to be featured heavily in an article I´m writing for the magazine!

Went to the Bolivar match last night against legendary Brazilian team Santos in the quater final of the South American champions league. Pre-match build up was wild, fireworks and loud, passionate singing created a brilliant atmosphere - slightly different to what Im used to seeing at Brunton Parkl!! Supposed world beater Neymar was playing for Santos although he did little to impress. His physical game certainly needs to be improved!! A couple of great free kicks saw Bolivar win 2-1, a narrow lead to take to Brazil next week in the second leg!!

Few beers last night after the game, and Im off to meet my friend Oli Marston today - a friend from university!

Pics soon and more spiel.....

Having graduated from university last year and spending a quality year back home in the glorious Lake District, I decided to embark on a cheeky adventure to South America for several months before returning to California, where I previously spent a year abroad studying. Right now I am working as a journalist in La Paz,Bolivia for the English publication Bolivian Express, a monthly magazine on Bolivia, its people and its places. This blog will provide an insight into what I get up to while I'm out here for anyone who would like to know!! I can't guarantee any sort of consistency but I will try ... full info
