Had a really good photography class with Joseph on Saturday. Checked out a fair bit of street art and graffiti that La Paz has to offer and got a few decent pictures as part of an assignment set by Joseph!!

Couple of late nights with Oli and the boys had caught up with me a bit so went with my friend Felipe to the sauna and swimming pool saturday evening. Actually went back again today with Jules, Felipe, Benjamin, Isabel and Lise. Because of national holidays everyone has had pretty long and lairy weekends so nice to relax for a couple of hours!!

Saturday night after the sauna went to a bar/club called Target. Absolutley quality night!! About 5 different DJs throughout the night playing all sorts from dirty dubstep to trance and house to Manu Chao dance remixes! Got a serious groove on all night until about 6ish at which point decided to call it a night. Sunday understandably was a bit of a write off but managed to get a bit of work done :)

Yesterday watched the Manchester derby in the pub with Felipe and a couple of others. Very dissapointed with the result but nevermind.

Yesterday night packed my rucksack and took a nocturnal stroll with Isabel and her friend Jessica to La Muela del Diablo or The Devils Tooth. After we set up our tents we made some hot wine with fresh orange, cinnamon and sugar - perfect to warm us up!! Great conversation around our stove/fire all night :) Woke up today to incredible scenery - views across La Paz, to Illimani and other mountains all absolutley spectacular. Had a scramble up La Muela del Diablo to take a few photos (which I will upload soon) before a breakfast of bread buttered with fresh avacado and topped with pine nuts. A cheeky hot chocolate on the stove also went down well!! Had a delicious lunch at Cafe Beirut after our decent from the mountain before a little snooze this afternoon. Round to Benjamins house briefly before we all went to the sauna/piscina for a relax and detox. Topped off this extra long weekend with a tasty meal with Felipe and Lise at Cafe Alexander.

Got to get cracking with an article tomorrow as the days just keep rolling by.....

Massive congratulations to everyone who took part in the Team Townend Challenge on Saturday - big love to you all :)

Peace

Having graduated from university last year and spending a quality year back home in the glorious Lake District, I decided to embark on a cheeky adventure to South America for several months before returning to California, where I previously spent a year abroad studying. Right now I am working as a journalist in La Paz,Bolivia for the English publication Bolivian Express, a monthly magazine on Bolivia, its people and its places. This blog will provide an insight into what I get up to while I'm out here for anyone who would like to know!! I can't guarantee any sort of consistency but I will try ... full info
