The Seagull
We spent the last couple of days around Lake Titicaca. We arrived at a town called Copacabana where music and passion are rarely the fashion in the Bolivian version (actually its Brazilian namesake took its name from this Bolivian version). The town is a ramshackle tourist town on the edge of Lake Titicaca the highest navigable lake in the world. The town is interesting enough but we preferred Isla Del Sol (Scott Kelly if you read this a quick translation please) one and a half hours by boat away. Sensational, blue water, plummeting cliffs, the odd Llama, friendlier locals, abondoned villages etc. I have'nt been to Turkey yet, but that's how I would imagine its mediterranean coast. Penny crawled through two boulders that legend says will bring a life of happiness and good luck. She then caught a cold - great legend. Besides, being married to Yeatesy she's already guaranteed permanent happiness.

Lake Titicaca - it's huge, that probably explains why Bolivia has a Navy presence here - not bad for a land locked country. However, the 12 klm trek at 4000 mtrs across the ridge of Isla Del Sol was great. I still managed to get a headache,

my cold isn't helping. It's a shame we don't have more time here, Gary missed his perfect Llama / local shot, it will go down in history as one of the great photographic tragedies. I've learnt a few new Spanish words off the children along the trek
'sacame - take my photo
pagame - pay me
tienes caramelo / plata - do you have a sweet / money?
they learn from a young age.

Hi There
Hey hey, travellers. Nick, Lew and J went to Cronulla this morning. Boys certainly enjoyed their surf. Nick would anyhow, you'll hear him crying, very loudly, as he flies out for eight weeks on Saturday. I walked, while the boys surfed. Water temp beautiful, windless, easterly swell, banks needing a bit of shape. Would have LOVED a swim myself, but by the time I'd finished we were all thinking of our bowls of cereal back home. Thanks for the travel updates. Keep them coming. Enjoy!!!
