Ross: Getting off at El Calafate brought some funny looks my way. not sure if it was how I looked after 24 hrs on a bus and covered in sand or how I was dressed; I hadn’t bothered changing when we left Puerto Madryn as it was bloody roasting and was still dressed accordingly- boardies, thongs and a small concession to the cold I had put a hoody on. This bit of the glacier touches the land where the balconies are and cuts the lake in half. the small cave bottom right is the only way from one side to the other.

A close up of the cave I was talking about, from time to time this ices up and causes one side of the lake to rise until the damb finally gives way in an explosion of water and ice . This is a sight not to be missed.

I finally remember to bring the binoculars on a trip. There bloody good too.

The guide really didn't enjoy facing the class as we had the best view.

...but don't as the guides have been having kittens already with people wandering of the path and close to the edge of shear drops.
