The Chilean-Argentinan Pass which is often closed due to bad weather We arrived in Mendoza and immediately had guys vying for our business at the terminal. And once again it seemed we’d made a good decision as they sighed heavy-heartedly when we told them that Hostal Lao was where we were staying. And it didn’t disappoint as we entered a cool, chilled out place with lovely staff offering us free wine. Our kind of place! It’s run by a couple - an Argentinean woman and an English guy - with lovely gardens, a pool and a homely feel. The only oddity was the fact we had to make our own beds but hey ho! Lorries and coaches risking the dodgy bends in sketchy conditions wandering into town for lunch at Cello’s, where Lisa had the crappest pizza ever, ever, ever and Ian had an average chicken and chips. Why the hostel had recommended it we don’t know. Feeling completely unsatisfied, we continued wandering for a while around pretty, tree-lined streets, until our knackered and hungover bodies could take it no more and we made our way back to the hostel, where the prospect of a couch and some footie was much more suited to how we were feeling. We decided that we’d have to return to Mendoza to see it properly, as we boarded the last bus of our trip to Buenos Aires and our new home for the next year! Whoop whoop!
Everyone start checking flights please and we'll see you in BA! Yay! x
