I´ll skip the tedious travel details of the overnight coach from Buenos Aires to Menoza (though the fully reclining flat bed seats and after dinner liquers put National Express to shame), Monday was really all about a restaurant called Azafran, a fantastic sommelier and one of the best steaks I have ever eaten.

Tuesday we spend exploring Maipu a few km from Mendoza. Basically you hire a bike and take in the numerous wineries that exist in the surrounding area. Or at least that was the idea but we only managed to visit two after an unexpectedly long stay at the first that extended into lunch and then into the mid afternoon.
