Biking in BABiking in BABiking in BA

San Telmo on our bikes.
Last Day in BA- The final day we hoped wouldn’t be a rainy one as we had booked a bike riding tour for the morning. Luckily for us no one else had booked a tour so we got a private bike tour. Our guide was great and despite returning to areas we had already been we learnt a lot of new things about the city and saw some sights we hadn’t seen before.

It was great to go back to Boca especially when there weren’t thousands of tourists crawling through the place. We also got to ride along the Porto Maldero area which was great fun. When we went back to Plaza de Mayo we saw some Aussies that we met at the Chile/Argentina border crossing, bizarre! There are 3 million in BA.

After having a quick bite to eat we made our way to the Malba art gallery. They had information for every floor in English which was fantastic (still thinking like a teacher I got a copy of the information extra for the art teachers back home). We saw some painting which we weren’t fussed on Volpi, some strange stuff by this guy Berni and cool

celebrity photography by Chapelle. There were some very full on pictures but my favourite was one with Pamela Anderson in it called “Fake tan”. It was a good sized gallery because it wasn’t too big.

After a quick coffee we felt revived enough to visit another museum but unfortunately the Evita museum was closed only on Mondays! If only we had known, instead we went to the book fair and ended out buying a couple of books.

To see off BA we had dinner at a café type place close by and did some more internet. It was very sad to see the back of BA the next morning because leaving South America was going to bring us one step closer to home. We had such a great time there and some amazing experiences but we still had the United States to go…
