Casa Rosada
Presidental Palace Can I read a map?
We almost missed breakfast this morning because we overslept. Luckily since it was Sunday, it was open until later and we got to eat. No McGriddle today. So we decided to head out to the Presidental palace to see if it was open and then headed to the market. I say to see if it was open because the guy told us eh, sometimes it is sometimes it isn't. Great. Off we went.
Now Alfred says I started yapping and that's how we ended up like a mile out of our way but I think it was his fault. Either way, I didn't get to hold the map again today. We were told to take main roads since the police wouldnt be on the side streets so that was enough to keep us on the main streets for the most part.
The Presidental Palace AKA the place where "Don't Cry for Me Argintina" constantly ran through my head
We made it and the palace was open.It is a pinkish color due to the lime being mixed with ox blood hence it is called theCasa Rosada. This is the place/balcony where Eva Peron sang to the
masses...
Buenos Aires version of After Christmas Sales
After leaving the palace we made it back on track to the market. See in the picture below Alfred preparing for the masses and trying not to get rolled by putting his backpack on the front. Strangely enough this info seems to be making the rounds (see next picture). I don´t know how to put these pictures into the text so this will be as good as it gets!
I loved this place, stall after stall, block after block. Now if you know me, you know this is also my worst nightmare due to my poor decision making abilities. It made me head spin that is for sure. Trying to decide what to buy for GIFTS just sends me into a tizzy. So please say you love them even if you don't! Alfred had enough and I left him with a giant beer at a cafe on the street after I made him give me some money. By the way, it is hot and I am sweating like a pig.Luckily this ruffled number I wore today was an excellent choice for hiding it. I had read this place was
a "2 shower a day" city, and they were right. After purchasing some stuff, we headed back to the hotel via the back streets. It was about 30 minutes shorter I swear. PS I hope someone at least picked up a little after Christmas Target stuff since I could not.
Dinners
We headed back to the market again (just like my rounds at Kohls!) and got to see a few things but it was getting to be about 7 and people were packing up. There was a fun salsa parade going down the street. Hmm, why don't I have any rhythm???
We walked back to the same street we had dinner yesterday and this time tried to go to a steak place.
Note: restaurants don't open until 8! We had to stand outside and wait for the place to open. Across the street we go a salsa show with all these people attempting to dance. Looked fun but my feet were killing me and again, I have no rhythm. There is a need for good walking shoes that don't look like black blocks on my feet.

So weird seeing non-winter clothes! BTW, while reading this, I could hear that line that Antonio Banderas sang..."She had her moments, she had some style. The best show in town was the crowd. Outside the Casa Rosada crying, 'Eva Peron'." I haven't hit Target yet...I know those 75% off prices haven't come down from corporate yet. Did hit Kohl's as to take advantage of the Kohl's Cash. It was surprisingly empty. Shopping there looks fun!
