Ahh...Out into the Big City...

Hello All...
Today we took our first trip out into the big city by ourselves. and boy is this place is big!!! When we woke up we thought... oh my gosh, today has gotten away from us. We didn't wake up until 2 in the afternoon... after staying up until 2 or 3 for the third night in a row... (it's 2 am now, so we are sticking with the pattern!) We thought that we had missed so much of the day, but decided to go out and explore anyway. And what we found is that we haven't missed anything!! There are still people outside the house enjoying the night, and we are going to be headed to bed a little early, after this post is finished!!!

When we finally decided to get out of the house, and check out one of the local mercados, we took a bus, for about $.33, to the other side of town to checked things out. The place we went to today is a lot like a mall inside, there are shops that sell a lot of "designer" furniture and lighting, among other things, as well as

some very nice art. This place is called Buenos Aires Design:. Then outside of this place, we went and cruised around an outdoor market, you might think of it as a mercado but it is really more of a craft fair. The place was packed with people, and little stalls where people were selling their hand made pieces of art. Some of it is a little funky, like the traditional touristy stuff, but most of it is beautiful artwork, that these people have put some serious time and effort into. After we fell in love with some of the pieces, we decided we just had to bring a few of the pieces home with us. 😊

So after having such a rough morning, and an afternoon filled with some serious shopping, we headed back to the house and grabbed a bite to eat. After a little food (fresh ravioli from a local shop we cooked at out place!!), we grabbed our shoes and headed out to the local outdoor Milonga. (That's what they call the social dances here.) This particular one is in a, well, for lack of a better way to describe it, a giant gazebo! It has

Here´s the place we went, packed with people, and some great dancing
a nice stone floor, and a metal railing, with an ornate roof... it looks a little like it could be greek architecture. While we didn't dance this time (it was way too crowded for our skill level!!), we did enjoy watching some excellent young dancers tear it up!! Or... at least as much as the space would allow!

And that just about wraps up our 4th day here! I have never had an Easter that has been so unique as this one! Now it's almost 3 am, and we're going to see Maitreyi in the morning... I believe that she'll fly in around 9 am. And then we'll start another fun day!!!!

As promised... some picture will follow these soon. There is a small problem with the computer we're using, so we can't yet upload pictures. But we'll be going to an internet cafe on Tues, and we'll add some then. thanks for your patience!!

More to come soon!!
Love, Hugs and Kisses, from us both

This is the same outdoor milonga, but seen during the day. It´s located in a park really close to Steve´s place... so close it took less than 5 minutes to walk!
