After breaking the bus journey at Cardwell, where we saw mudskippers on the beach and were delighted to see Saltwater Croc warning signs, we arrived in Mission Beach with the sole intention of doing nothing for a few days after all the travel and adventure (and expense). We started this travel blog in 2005 when we set off on a ten-month around-the-world trip with a couple of backpacks and not much else. In 2008, we emigrated to New Zealand with four suitcases and a guitar and spent the first month travelling throughout the country, from Auckland to Christchurch, via a roundabout route.
