25 May 2016 We had quite an emotional day visiting the site of the Buchenwald concentration camp which is now a memorial. Buchenwald was built in 1937 outside the town of Weimar and between then and the end of the war over 250,000 people from over 50 countries were imprisoned there by the Nazis. 56,000 human beings met their deaths in Buchenwald and its subcamps.
