Andy started the day at Horseshoe Ridge, just inside Manitou State Park. The first part of the day was rugged and had beautiful panoramic overlooks of Lake Superior and the Manitou River. I created this blog to provide details of my 2015 through hike of the Superior Hiking Trail. The trip lasted 26 days including 19 days hiking (265 miles), 4 days on a BWCA canoe trip and 3 days off trail playing tourist in Cook Co. I am attempting another SHT through hike in Sept 2017. Differences this year include a more focused trip without the canoe trip and scheduled days off trail. I will be hiking the entire trail including the Duluth section (310 Miles). ... full info
