Being creative in a long distance relationship

I don't often take selfies, or particularly with friends but when I do they look like this. The other day I was sad so my boyfriend passed me on to his mother who then pinched her cheek and quite sternly announced TAKOYAKI, five minutes later I realised I was meant to follow suite and I repeated until I pronounced it right. To this day I do not know the meaning of the cheek part but I think it's how they ask my squid.
Little Culture Shocks

In and English life: One gets up at 6-7AM and leaves home at 9 to start work until 5-6.
