Pu'uhonau o Hōnaunau National Historical Park

Looking back from the shore. The place of refuge was a sacred place in which no blood could be spilled and sins were absolved. Defeated warriors would come here to ride out the rest of the battle. Those who broke laws and were being chased by warriors would come here and have their sins forgiven by a priest, then they could return home as if nothing no law had been broken.

Hawaii. Yep! it has long been a dream of mine to visit all 50 states. I don't know if I will ever get there, but I do know that Hawaii was the one state I thought FOR SURE would be one I didn't visit! Or the last one I would visit. Why? Because it's so far away!
