When we first arrived, we thought there weren't too many tourists in town, because it was possible to take a photo on this bridge (which looks gorgeous lit up at night) and wait for a gap in the passing walking traffic. But later, there were way too many tourists to even try!

Hoi An was the place everyone we spoke to before leaving Australia said 'You must go there!' It was easy to immediately see why. The ancient town centre has been well preserved with lots of beautiful old buildings, at night the little walking bridges across the river are lit up, and each side of the river is lit by hundreds of colourful fabric lanterns.
