Hoi An was the place everyone we spoke to before leaving Australia said 'You must go there!' It was easy to immediately see why. The ancient town centre has been well preserved with lots of beautiful old buildings, at night the little walking bridges across the river are lit up, and each side of the river is lit by hundreds of colourful fabric lanterns.
